Continuous HRT

My doctor has advised a continuous HRT regime. I take one tablet every evening and apply two pumps of gel every morning. I'm bleeding full on every other week and I'm worried I'll end up anaemic again. Will this settle down eventually? I've been taking it like this for three months. I've been on HRT for five years and still had periods when I started it. I'll call the doctors but is it safe to take two tablets with two pumps of gel daily? I find this board more knowledgeable than my Gps sometimes. Many thanks

I'm on continuous hrt two pumps of gel in the morning and two at night with one tablet. It took me over 3 months for my bleeding to stop then it was like very light then it stopped. My Dr told me it can take 6 months to fully work x

If your periods hadn't stopped before you went onto combined continuous that's possibly whey you are bleeding.

A lot depends on your age.

Too many GPs seem to push women onto continuous HRT too early and they end up with bleeding issues.

Yes, it can take 6 months to settle down BUT the bleeding is more often light spotting not full-on bleeding.

I'm not on the same regime as you but in my case I had to reduce my dosage to keep the bleeding under control, not increase it.

When I try and increase the dose I was originally on, my boobs become really sore and within 10 days I have a bleed.

I'd always recommend speaking to a Doctor of course, but just came on to say its not always an increase that makes things better.
