Does my dosage sound right?

I’m reading all the threads about having a break from progesterone on days x-y, and I hope someone knowledgable can reassure me that I’m doing this right. I’m working in the Middle East and HRT is relatively unknown here and there’s a slight language barrier with my gynae.

I’m 57, and I have one pump of oestrogen in the morning and two progesterone every single night. I feel OK - not amazing, but relatively “normal”. I’m tired but I work long hours.

I used to take one progesterone, but my womb lining was too thick, so a year ago I was put on 2. Now that my lining is normal and my ovaries have shrivelled up (my gynae’s words) and are invisible on a scan, should I still be taking 2?

Thanks for any advice.

I'm confused too. I'm on two pumps morning and night and 5mg progesterone daily. Since I've started the daily I've had light bleeding x

@AgentProvocateur On 1 pump of gel, the Utrogestan dose is usually 100mgs a day. Sounds like you're on too much.

@Dawn1331 You can't be on 5mgs Utrogestan as it's only available as 100 or 200mgs.

Can you check the drug? Maybe it's Norethisterone?
In either case, when moving onto daily progestogen, your dr should have said that spotting for up to 6 months is normal and expected.

@JinglingSpringbells thank you. I have an appointment next month so will try and discuss reducing the progesterone then.

@JinglingSpringbells thank you for your advice! It's a minefield. I'm on Provera 5mg medroxyprogesterone. X

Your dr should have told you that bleeding for the first 6 months, when changing to daily, is normal.

Google it- changing to combined continuous progesterone.

@JinglingSpringbells she didn't mention a thing and I sure am glad you replied to the OP post or I would be none the wiser! Thank you so much for replying x
