Starting the (peri)menopause conversation when you can’t have periods anymore

I had an endometrial ablation and one ovary removed eighteen months ago, aged 42, and haven’t had a period since then. I haven’t been able to track any other symptoms well enough to tell me if I’m still ovulating regularly, so one of the big signs is off the list…

But I’ve got these other little symptoms. I’ve lost my sex drive. I’m tireder. I’m less tolerant to alcohol and some foods. The last few weeks I’ve had such a dry mouth with a bad taste. But most importantly, I’m just so, so fucked off at the world! I’m grumpy and tearful and lacking any spark in life. I put it down to some situational stuff but now I’m not so sure.

So, without periods, without hot flushes and night sweats, how do you know when it might be time to have a conversation with the GP, and how to get them to listen?

I think it's time now OP, given your medical history.

I'd write everything down, and either read it out or show it to my GP.
