Coil replacement

I have just seen GP today for some HRT. I am 45, and have the marina coil. It is due to be replaced next summer. My GP said that I could get it replaced at the family
Planning clinic as my periods haven't fully stopped.....well she said I could say that! Would the clinic have access to my notes and see I am on HRT? Or would that not matter if I say I am still getting periods? The coil works perfectly for me and helped massively with bleeding problems in the past.

Not sure what you’re asking. Many younger women who have a Mirena don’t get periods, because of the way Mirena works, nothing to do with menopause.

You need the Mirena as the progesterone element of your HRT.

I have heard and read that the family
Planning clinic won't replace if it's to do with menopause they are only funded for contraception.

You can be going through the menopause and still be fertile.

I asked my doctor to remove my coil last year but she wanted to do a blood test and check my fertility. Turns out I'm still fertile. I'm 56 😂

You can be on HRT for perimenopause symptoms and still need contraception. I think that women are recommended to use contraception until at least 50, and you’re only 45 so I doubt that they would ask many questions. As I said, absence of periods means nothing as that is likely caused by the Mirena, not menopause.

I was told to keep my mirena until 50 for contraception or 55 for HRT, so you should be fine.

Yes I had this at my initial fitting! I'd hyped myself up, taken some painkillers ready to help and when I said it was for painful / heavy periods they said they're only funded for contraception purposes and GP shouldn't have referred me.
I started crying as Id been so nervous and hyped myself up, after lots of chat and consultation between managers I think they just took pity on me and did it there and then 🙈🤣
