Changing from tablets to gel/patches

I'm looking to change HRT, I've been on the same for over 5 years and feel it needs some more omph.

My options are

*EVOREL 50mcg patches + Utrogestan

Or

*Separate Oestrogen GEL + Progestogen capsules

Or

*Combined HRT PATCH (containing both oestrogen and progestogen

Does anyone have any advice?

I've just gone from tablets to gel and capsules. Im struggling to remember to put the gel on. I've put it next to my toothbrush and still forget somehow. I need to try be better as I'm itching when I forget and it's driving me.mad!!!

I use the Oestrogel and find it OK to use. My progesterone comes from a Mirena coil so I can't comment on that side.

I initially set a reminder on my Home hub everyday to apply it, but it's part of my morning shower routine now, dry off, apply gel etc.

You need to be careful on coming into close contact with others, particularly men and pets for an hour after application. Apart from that it's great.

The only downside is the bottle is light and sometimes I haven't noticed its nearly empty until the last pump. But my OBgyn gives me a pack of three usually and now I contact her when I'm starting my last pump bottle for a refill.

That's interesting, thanks for the info. I've been offered a 3 month supply (currently I'm having to collect my tablets monthly, even though I've been on them for so long) so that's something to consider.

This is why I'm thinking patches may be better but I've heard good things about the gel. Think I just need to try one and go from there.

I'm allergic to the glue on plasters so I'd be itching that none stop 😂 if you do get patches, alcohol hand sanitizer removes the black marks when you take them off. Tip from a colleague
