Incredibly sore breasts

I'm way into perimenopause and have very irregular cycles (between 19 and 130 days) and recently had a 3-day period which just stopped - my norm is 6 days but I thought, what a gift. Then I felt like I ovulated immediately, going by EWCM.
My breasts have been killing me since then. I'm not worried about it being cancer, I do check myself and it's both breasts. I feel like I'm pregnant again. (There's no chance!).
They're hot, agonisingly painful, a bit itchy, super sensitive. Is it just hormonal? Is this a perimenopausal thing? I had this once before but the pain wasn't quite so bad.
Any advice? All my menstruating life I've sometimes had breast pain pre-period, and sometimes not, but not like this.

I used to take a good quality evening primrose oil for breast pain.

Are you on HRT? Mine were like this before I started on HRT. It was so painful.

Mine seem to be hurting at random points in the month nowadays. I’m still on the pill so I don’t have regular periods. But my last period was fine and then after for about a week I could barely take my bra off without crying they hurt.

Oh HRT made me quite psychotic (the progesterone) so I steer clear! But I might have to do something about it. I'm into the second week of this (please let me have a period soon and relieve it).

The bra-off moment is exquisitely painful, as is sitting up just after waking. It really feels like those first few weeks of being pregnant, but at least then you're excited about the baby!

Do you swim or use your arms a lot?
I used. Starflower capsules from boots with vitamin e as this seemed to be the best when I researched it. No hoovering for a while or carrying heavy stuff etc.
mine has passed now - until it comes back again or some other phase starts!
