HRT and Morning-after-pill help

We had a condom breakage last night. First time in 15 years of regular use so a bit surprised!
I've ordered the levoronorgestrel MAP from Boots (having read that the other type is not suitable if you are taking HRT).
I'm taking cyclical HRT - high dose patches, vaginal utrogesterone abnd testosterone cream.
Next week i have a blood test appointment for testosterone / oestrodiol. Anything concerning in the results will mean a (n expensive) follow up with my meno clinician - will the MAP hormones still be in my system then? Should i defer it?
Also, can i just continue with my normal HRT cycle alongside the MAP?
Any experiences/advice welcome....

It sounds like you have a lot going on at once.

I would visit the Sunday pharmacy for your ares ( it will be online if you google, our local one tends to be asda or superdrug) . Ask if the pharmacist can give you advice.

Failing that , it's waiting til Monday and phone either your local surgery and ask to speak to a nurse who deals with women's health.

I presume your meno clinician is a private service.

@Mairzydotes thanks for replying. Yes actually i think I'll contact the private clinic by email to ask the same question of my meno doctor. Shouldn't need to book a full consultation. Also I can't be the only person this has happened to. (GPs horribly difficult to see round here, especially the ones familiar with HRT).
But i'm definitely going to take the MAP today regardless, for some peace of mind.

@paranoidmumdroid1 I'm not an expert on this at all, but my thoughts are that the MAP is the same progestogen as the Mirena coil- so would having a Mirena skew the results of other hormone tests?

Obviously if you are paying for tests, then you should ask your dr about the implications before you have the tests. They could easily be delayed by a few days if needed.

I'd assume you can carry on with hrt as usual as the MAP is progestogen and just adding a bit extra short term to your hrt.

Also, depending on your age, conception may be very unlikely (ie if you are over 50).

paranoidmumdroid1 · 07/04/2024 12:23

Thanks all. Yes 49 so conception unlikely but periods still regular and my youngest dc is only 7 and i conceived quickly then (as with my other 2 dc). It's been about 30 years since i last had a pregnancy scare as we've found condoms v reliable, so just panicking a bit! Calmer now (but have taken the MAP and will contact my clinic tomorrow).
