Hi everyone.
Long and short of it, I'm 35 years old with early stage ++- breast cancer and am starting my ovarian suppression injections in the next couple of weeks. Can't recall their names as I'm struggling with technical terms (in the middle of chemo so trying to focus on getting through that, I think my brain is just deciding to block a lot of it out!)
It's going well and my oncologist has told me that apart from bone problems (which I'll be getting injections to contract) I shouldn't expect any long term health problems as I'm active and eat healthily. She's also said because my mum did well through her menopause and that I'm already in a chemo-induced menopause and had no problems I should be fine.
But I'd really like to hear from any stories women of a similar age. Luckily I've completed my family and obviously I'm happy not to take any HRT but I've read a lot of scary stories and it would be nice to know that I can have some semblance of a normal life moving forward, once my cancer treatment has finished. I'm also considering a hysterectomy in the future so I can avoid regular injections. But please no recommendations for any kind of HRT, it's a total no go for me.
Thank you! 😊
