Bleeding on Evorel conti

Hi all,
The dr swapped me from Evorel Sequi to conti because I was low in iron and she thought it might be due to heavy bleeding.
I'm 50 and have no idea whether my periods have naturally stopped because, being on Sequi, I was still having a monthly bleed. Was on Sequi for a couple of years.

Have been on Conti for two months and Im now having a bleed which has lasted for 8 days so far - is this normal?
I really thought that any breakthrough bleed would be like spotting, not a full on period.

Any advice would be welcome - don't want to phone the dr if this is normal.

From what I've read on these boards, it's very common to have a heavy bleed on Conti during the first 6 months however you should speak with your GP as they need to rule out thickening of the womb / endometrial issues, etc. Ultimately it's bleeding so they need to check it out to rule out anything sinister.

Yeah i bled non stop for 5.5 months on Conti, pita.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm not really sure I should be on this tbh. I always thought it was for women whose periods had definitely stopped for a year and I have no idea whether that's true for me.

I don’t think you should be, my periods had stopped more than 18 months before i started on it

I will ring the dr tomorrow. Tbh, I was looking forward to not having periods but actually, it's weird - like I'm constantly waiting for something to happen! And I've been feeling premenstrual for two months which hasn't helped either.
The one good thing has been no headaches, which I used to get previously.
