Hello,
I'm new here and hoping someone may have some ideas or advice.
I had a total hysterectomy in January 2022 and in surgical menopause. I'm on HRT and I'm doing okay....apart from eating sensibly and being able to lose weight. I did lose two stone not long after my op but half has gone back on. I have no motivation or self control at all and have ridiculous sugar cravings. I don't want to be overweight, I want to be healthy and looking my best. I'm so afraid I'm risking my health for the amount of crap and sugar I eat.
Can anyone offer some help or suggestions please? Thank you x

Hugs! 💐 And following!

I’m in a similar boat, let’s see who turns up as I need this advice 😅

Don't want to sound simplistic, but sugar is addictive.
You need to treat this like any other addiction.
1 Stop buying the foods you are trying to avoid. Don't have them in the house.
2 Buy foods that are nice - like fresh berries, melon, grapes and eat them if you need a sugar hit but not too much as some are still sugar (grapes especially) but not the refined sort.
3 try distraction techniques- phone a friend, clean your teeth, go for a walk, if you're on the verge of eating some sugar.

I have three kids who love the biscuits and chocolate etc 😩 I think it's going to come down to pure willpower. It's lost weight before, I could kick my own ass for letting some of it go back on.

Please up your meat protein.
I suffered horrid sugar cravings for years.
I stared eating good meat protein every day.
Cravings disappeared over night never to return.
This isn't lack of will power, it is your body telling you it is malnourished.
Make sure you are eating enough calories too.
Drink plenty.
And try to get adequate sleep.
