Would really appreciate any feedback or advice?
not had a proper period for over 6 months. I’m 39, I have hot and cold sweats,
sever mood changes and difficulty sleeping but I’ve been I’ll for other reasons. I just have a feeling but my mother is very adamant and my sister is a GP. Mum doubts it should be anything relating to menopause as she was about 56 when she had hers. Is this a basis to go on?
goben the current doctor NHS situation I actually feel prior to bothering anyone else with tests etc t ask for opinions.
I don’t live near my family and I don’t really know if I feel comfy asking a friend.
appreciate anything. Thanks

@Mopsybunnycheesestringsnotcarrots could well be . I'm finding sleep so difficult. I'm 46. Think I'm at the start of it too 🙄🙄🙄

You are not too young at 39. I think the idea that menopause starts at a certain age and not before is far too ingrained in society. Plenty of people afab have started in their early to mid 40s. I started peri-menopause in my early-mid 30s.

Yes, of course I'd go to the GP with those symptoms.

no period for 6 months, hot/cold sweats, mood swings and difficulty sleeping?

Yep, totally sounds like peri.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your opinions and sometimes I just need to need a push to make a decision because I don’t know. Indecisive and scared and in my head too much.
thanks again x

The indecisiveness and anxiety is also part of peri-menopause.

I've just been able to overcome my anxiety to phone the gp and get an appointment to discuss it. Apparently it can start as young as in your 30's from what I am reading. Just because your mum was 56 doesn't mean you will be the same. Hope you can get a good GP.

I would go and talk with your gp.
Never be unsure or feel uneasy about speaking to your gp about what is going on or how you are feeling.

I recently met with a different doctor who kept it light and easy to talk about my peri symptoms, and believe me, it was a huge relief.
