Conflicting advice on whether to rub gel in or to just smear on in a thin layer over a wide area so first time I rubbed it in and it dried quickly (did it before bed by the time I'd been toilet cleaned teeth etc) it had dried next night smeared on and even after 10 minutes was still sticky but I just put PJs on so not sure what is best

I rub it into inner thigh area, by the time I've put face cream on its dry enough to dress.

The leaflet years ago said to use it (the leaflet) as a template to the area to cover- that was slightly smaller than the size of an A4 page.

So, that's one inner thigh per pump or one upper outer arm (you could go down to the elbow) .

Yes you need to rub it in, but it's really a smoothing action up and down rather than a scrubbing the floor motion! Without counting, I'd say I use about 4 strokes per thigh.

What you don't do is rub and rub till nothing is left. But neither do you smear it on so it's thick and wet.

Mine takes about 5 minutes to dry but I divide one pump between each thigh, and apply morning and night.

I went for a fairly big area to help it dry when I used gel. For your next prescription, you might want to consider switching to the spray - it dries in under a minute and you don't have to worry about spreading it or getting it on your hands.
