I’ve got to come off HRT because there have been changes in my breast tissue, I’m hoping to go back on in a couple of months after scans , but waiting to see.

Im 55. Also been on testosterone for about y months and it improved my libido no end.

can 8 carry on with the testosterone? It seems that it might make me hairy….but 8m not sure any other issues. Anyone any experience?

Testosterone is partly metabolised to oestrogen

No, you can't as far as I know.

Rather than ask here, talk to the doctors who are treating you for your breast issues.

What sort of changes are there?

JinglingSpringbells · 04/02/2024 09:55

@BarrelOfOtters I'm sorry to hear about your breast scare. It must be horrible waiting. But usually all scans etc are done on the day and you'd be given the all-clear or not.

Are you having to wait for another mammogram or something?
That doesn't sound great.

I forgot to ask, I was too pissed off at having to come off HRT. Apparently they reckon the hrt is making too difficult to identify if there is an issue with one breast. The MRI was inconclusive and they couldn’t do a biopsy. They tried. So they want me to come off it to see if it all calms down so they can do another mri.

I don’t get the feeling anyone thinks it’s anything sinister, they just can’t tell.

Your body turns some of the testosterone into oestrogen https://www.news-medical.net/health/The-Role-of-Testosterone-in-Womene28099s-Health.aspx
