Evorel Conti Patch Newbie.......2024

Hi, 58 years old no periods for over three years so with all the usual suspects...zero sleep, no mojo, joint pain and a bucket load of couch and biscuit moments took the plunge and HRT . So far patches have stuck and no issues with putting them on, I put on at night as I always shower in the morning so at least it has a good eight hours to stick while lying on it wide awake 😅. By day four I did notice my boobs felt similar to heavy boobs during menstrual cycle and I had a few cramps but nothing alarming. Sleeping it has been so long since a full nights sleep (years) I reckon that will take a while to undo, however I am dropping off inbetween the waking periods and like a post I read on here very vivid dreams , I've not had dreams in years so this is noticeable. Hoping the energy levels increase and with spring on the way I can get back into walking etc and shift that extra weight round the tummy. Never been overweight and still in size 10 jeans but there is an overspill which I never used to have !!! Looking forward to any comments on experiences positive or negative and happy to answer any queries. I know this site has been incredibly useful for me and I want to share my experience .

Hi, I’ve been on everol sequi for about 9 months but told I shouldn’t be on them because I’ve had no period for a long time , plus think they need upping because dryness and lack of energy, but other than that they suited.
I’ve been put off n everol conti and have m a week in and feel shattered.
i feel sick bad stomach cramps and just feel rubbish, can anyone tell me if this will subside?
it was my patch change today and feels worse for it.

I was post menopause for five years and was feeling like you low energy etc , I was put on Evorel Conti seemed ok but I wasn’t convinced , then two months in started feeling a bit off and then had a bleed that lasted over two weeks. I’d been period free for five years so wasn’t too keen on the bleeds but I was told to expect it initially . Went back to doctors and now I’m on Evorel 75 patch change twice a week and Utrogestan pill every night . I’ve felt much better on this doseage how ever I have had two small bleeds so maybe still needs a doseage adjustment, but I do have much more energy and hair, skin definitely improved . If you don’t feel comfortable on it go back to GP and discuss your options , I’m lucky and have a good GP and nurse practitioner with relatively easy appointment access . I do think you’re lucky if they get you on the right track first time its a fine balance …. Trust your gut if you don’t like how you feel then go and talk it through.

Thanks so much for that, yes I’ve had a very light bleed but not enough to be worried, but I’ve been on her tablets for 14 years without any problems so it’s annoying to all of a sudden be getting side affects since the new patches.
i’ll give it a bit longer but yes your right, you need to trust your gut.
Thanks for advice .

Let me know how you get on , I’m on the fence with HRT, the benefits are good ie bones and heart health etc but if it’s making us feel worse then I’m not sure . I’ve given myself 12 months on it to settle and get used to it . If after 12 months I’m still not convinced I will stop HRT and look at a more natural approach.

Forgot to add that the biggest plus for me has been sleeping, years of sleepless nights and now I hit the pillow and sleep all night .

Evening.
yes I certainly will let you know.
I went on it when I was 47, for my bones, not for menopause, and it has helped as at a young age I’ve had arthritis and osteoporosis.
i’m now almost 61 and having to switch from one I’ve had years to a patch has been a different experience as the tablets where 2 different ones 2 weeks on a estrogen and the other 2 weeks on the progesterone one.
Now it’s combined I think my body doesn’t like it, but with not having a period it’s the wrong one.
The jury is out at the moment, not sure how long I’m going to give it but i definitely will let you know.
I hope you find that eventually it’s working for you.
We all know our own bodies though don’t we!? X
