Hi, feeling really low as everyday I seem to wake up with a new pain or issue.
Currently I have extreme upper back, shoulder, neck pain. Not too bad whilst upright but bedtime is horrendous.
Haven't had a period for 15 months and trying to het blood pressure down to possibly start hrt. Is this a symptom of menopause. I have a lower back issue which for a few years which needs an operation but am trying to lose weight to see if that helps. All.i seem to do is put on weight as I can't really exercise much due to lower back issue and now all my other aches and pains. Have ither medical issues all of which would benefit from weight loss but I'm stuck in a vicious circle. Now I have this horrendous upper back shoulder neck pain. Has anyone else suffered this? Could it be menopausal.
I ache in many places its really getting me down. Everyday a new issue. I have a good doctor but I'm visiting her so much its embarrassing. Now I'm going to have to go Monday again I can't carry on like this. I feel stuck in a weepy merry go round. My dad has just been diagnosed with dementia, my eldest son has been extremely ill over the years although now in his 20s.
I don't know what to do anymore.
Is this common menopause stuff....I have no clue. I'm worrying something more serious is going on.
My bloods are good. I just don't know what's going on. Thanks for listening.

stress and poor posture ?

I doubt it’s menopausal. Possibly your body is compensating for the lower back pain by using other parts of the body differently, and that is causing the upper back pain. (My daughter went to a physio because of pain in her hands, and it turned out to be caused by upper back/neck posture.)

Have you considered going to an exercise class like Pilates? There are people of all shapes and sizes at the ones I go to. The instructor changes the exercises for people with injuries or conditions that mean they can’t do what she has planned for the class, and there are usually gentler classes for people with injuries or the like, as well.

From what I’ve read and being post menopausal myself, it is possible to get aches and pains. The drop in oestrogen can affect joints. Please google a good website though.

It’s possible of course there’s other things going on, and the pain is caused by something else, so best check it out first or at least get some good pain killers.

It’s very surprising how many body systems eostregan plays a part in, and so the changes in menopause can affect you in all sorts of ways.

It can be a really miserable time and you can feel nothing works properly any more. Weight loss seems to get harder.

I have the same problem, painful knees joints, lack of exercise, overweight.

Read up on it and keep talking with your doctor. Best of luck.

Sounds more like poor posture / bad workstation set up / compensation for the lower back issue
