Peri - Uterogestan

I was prescribed continuous uterogestan 100mg orally, but have been using it every other night vaginally to keep side effects to a min. I thought alternate nights vaginally would be the same dosage wise as continuous orally (is that right?)
All went well in the beginning - but I'm just in the middle of my second period this month. Cramping, heavy period.

Not seeing the doc until early Feb. Should I start taking it orally & hope for the best (will this stop my period)? Or use it vaginally every night.

Urrgh, please help!

Hi if you are peri (had a natural period within 12 months ) you should be taking 200mg for 12 -14days a month otherwise you get breakthrough bleeding which sounds like you have. Also continuous is every night whether orally or vaginal x

Thank you. Ok so I've definitely been prescribed only 1 tablet a night/100mg, but I'll use it every night & see what happens.

@BlackSwan yes GPs often prescribe HRT incorrectly unfortunately

Good morning @BlackSwan found your post very interesting. I have been advised by a GP that taking Progesterone vaginally isn't fully effective. I'm going to get a 2nd opinion from my GP next week.

Well I wasn't prescribed it this way... I took the initiative myself after reading online. Now I'm going to have to fess up. My body and all that.
