Erratic cycles and starting Evorel Sequi

Hi,

I was prescribed Everol Sequi with 2 weeks of the oestrogen then 2 weeks of the progesterone for perimenopause.

GP said start on cycle day 1. My cycles are erratic, and have ranged from 17 days to 42 days, so I waited for the next one to start. However that cycle lasted only 13 days, shortest one yet. However I merrily stuck the first patch on, all good.

The cycle was light. Much more than spotting but lighter than usual, one medium day and 3 light days, but my cycles have been erratic for some time so a change out of the ordinary wouldn't be unusual. Not just the length of them, but how heavy they are, how long they last, etc. I didn't overthink it. (I had a womb scan when my cycles first became heavier and more erratic, all was good)

But here I am 1 week and 1 day into starting on the HRT and my period has arrived again. So after 8 days and more like when it should have come if I hadn't had the 13 day cycle. I knew it was coming - bad back, sore boobs (haven't had those for a long time). Now I'm worried I started on the wrong day, and also as I'm still on the oestrogen for another 6 days.

I have very little chance of getting an answer from the GP in anything like a timely manner so thought I'd ask on here where there will be lots of experience. Shall I just keep going and wait for it to all eventually level out? Is it just hormones adjusting? Will it be ok in the long run as my body becomes more in sync with the patch hormones?

TIA.

Yes just carry on, you may get some bleeding as your body gets used to it. When periods are irregular you can generally start the patches anytime. X
