Early menopause

Talk me through your menopause symptoms please.

I'm 33, having irregular periods for over a year. Hair thinning and brittle. Started getting anxiety. Dry vulva. Sex drive disappearing. And now pain with sex.

The GP knows everything I've listed but hasn't joined the dots and I'm getting more and more worried.

Have you had any blood tests done? A lot of your symptoms point to a thyroid disorder.

Yes I have a hypothyroid and have done since my 20s.
I take thyroxine, 25mg and my most recent blood test showed TSH was 1.75.

I see.
Vitamin D deficiency also causes vaginal dryness, hair issues and anxiety, as does low ferritin and low B12, all of which seem to be quite common in people suffering hypothyroidism.

Ask to be referred to a consultant. Insist- don't be palmed off.

Refer yourself privately if you can afford it.

Take advice from the Daisy Network which is a national, consultant-led charity for women with POI (premature ovarian failure.)https://www.daisynetwork.org/

Charity for Women with POI | The Daisy Network

More than 1% of women under 40 go through early menopause. Daisy Network is a charity offering information, advice and support. Make contact with other members, chat to specialist doctors online and receive news, videos and fact sheets.

OP, that's is a dreadfully low dose of thyroxine. Horrific, actually. I'd recommend going over to the thyroid forum on Healthunlocked because your symptoms can be linked to poor thyroid hormones.
