Joints and hypermobility

I've always had a degree of hypermobility - my knees can give way and bend in the wrong direction or my patellas can mildly dislocate and drift off to the side. It's as much fun as it sounds.
I realised laterally that my knee problems would start to remedy like magic the day my period started, but now I'm 51 (still menstruating every month, but that can't last forever), taking a mild dose of oestrogel/progesterone and my most recent knee problem hasn't remedied with my period.
Does anyone else notice a pattern with joint pain and hypermobility? I think it's a bit niche. On the plus side, I shook a boot off last night, and I felt my patella thunk back into place. So I can walk downstairs at the moment.
I know there isn't a clear question here. Just seeing if anyone else has suffered from this. Thank you.

Similar history to you, always suspected hypermobility. Currently having problems with my thigh going outside the range of movement it should, and making it more awkward to do any meaningful excercise. I'm not on HRT currently, as just couldn't get the bleddy prescription fulfilled anywhere, but no idea if it would help or what would. Feels yer pain tho.

Now I've posted this, I've spurred myself on to see a physio. Don't know what she will suggest, but she says she has experience with hypermobility/Ehlers-Danlos so we'll see.
