Perimenopause and pregnancy

Hi!
I'm pretty sure I've been experiencing perimenopause symptoms for a year or so now. I won't go into details as the list is long. I noticed this summer that I had a period with just 15 days break when normally I'm every 21 days give or take since 2021.
I track my period using clue since 2020 and as I have already 3 boys (last one nearly 8) I don't wish to have another one so I'm careful.
I'm currently 14 days late and wasn't expecting this except my last period seemed pretty weird with old blood and very dark.
I've never been so late but having PMS symptoms since my due date.
I've heard that you can get pregnant during this time but it's a small chance bearing in mind my mum started the menopause at 43.
I can discuss with my hubby but I don't really have any close girlfriends to talk to about this.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Some kind support please! I'm a little stressed
Thank you!

Why not just do a pregnancy test?

Yes I don’t think I have a choice although I have to say I’m really terrified.

But if you’ve been as careful with contraception as you say that you have, then the risk that you’re actually pregnant is incredibly small, so I’d think it’s better to do the test, find it negative and then just breathe a sigh of relief and wait for your period. No need for the big stress and paragraphs when there’s a very simple solution.

I forgot to mention when I say careful I mean I’m tracking the moment that I can have sex without any problems except I wasn’t expecting to have a late period this time. 😫

If you're only using calendar/rhythm method of contraception, not any other barrier or hormonal method then you really should do that pregnancy test. It's difficult to use calendar method if your cycle is unpredictable (which it sounds like it is).
Fingers crossed it all works out for you either way.

My cycle went haywire like this before I had the coil inserted. I agree with others, take a test. Good luck.

Take a test.

Most likely your anciety is pms and your period is on the way.

I went 90 days without a period and then had one that lasted weeks, blood every morning for 3 weeks, horrendous.

Anyway, do the test.

I’ve bought a test online I’m waiting for it to arrive.
