New to Utrogestan - Help

I’m 45 and relatively new to HRT. Been taking patches along with Utrogestan. Doctor advised to take the Utrogestan on day 14 of my cycle for 14 days. I have now been doing that for 6 months and I’ve gone from having regular periods to shorter cycles and my periods are now lasting up to 7 days when they were previously 3-4. This month I’ve had a period 10 days after the first one.

just looking for some advice really. I’ve noticed some people suggest taking it on the 1st or 15th of the month. Would that potentially help get my cycle into a regular pattern.

I’ve just finished my period and not really sure what to do next. Was going to start it on the 1st of November but not sure if that would make a difference. Any advice would be appreciated!

Following because I'm in the same boat. Been taking ustrogen with oestrogel. My script says to take on day 15 and continue until day 26. I've now got the heaviest period I've had in over 12 months 😢 I'd be interested to know whether it settles down?

Do not go by your own cycle let HRT create one pick a date and start on the same date each month or just do 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off.

Well after reading some threads on here about Ustrogestan I've realised I've only been taking one tablet rather than two! So it might help if I take the bloody stuff correctly. I blame the menopause Grin

This!

It's really frustrating that so many women aren't being told of the right way to take this.

Yes, the patient leaflet says days 15-26 BUT in peri, women aren't going to have regular cycles, so following that is impossible (because sometimes you can go weeks or months with no cycle - or have very short cycles of 18 days.)

The principle of the dose stays the same - 12 days per calendar month but choose the same DATE each month.

@JinglingSpringbells thank you! I have seen a few posts saying this and went back and challenged my GP and they stuck with the original advice..........sigh!

I have just finished my period for this month but will start on the 1st and see how it goes, hopefully this might get me into a more regular cycle! Also taking on the same date each month will be a lot easier for me to remember!
