I’m away for a long weekend thur-Mon and although, I’ve forgotten to bring the two Evorel 50 patches l need.
I should be putting a fresh one on tonight and Sunday, but obviously I can’t.
I have the Utrogestan tablets- one per evening here! I remembered them!
So, should l continue to take the tablets or just leave them as I’ve not got the patches??
im so cross with myself..but hey ho. Would a local boots be able to prescribe 2 patches or isn’t it worth it…doubt it would be.

Any advice greatly received. Thanks

You might be able to go into a pharmacy & get an emergency prescription. I did it with the pill once, they gave me one pack & I had to pay £2.

Not quite the same, but I was on antibiotics for tonsillitis and must have dropped the packet out of my bag with the last three tablets in it. I was really concerned about not finishing the course (maybe that’s just paranoia!) even though I felt better, so went and asked to speak to the pharmacist at Boots. She gave me the missing tablets.

I think it was a Sunday or holiday Monday, the GP was definitely closed, and I had to fill out a form with their details in the store. I’m not sure if the pharmacist might have called them if it had been a working day.

TBH @Artyfarty555 it's not worth the effort.
You're only going to miss 3 days (Friday, Sat and Sunday) so nothing awful will happen.

If it was 2 weeks away that's different.

AlisonDonut · 27/10/2023 10:58

Just leave your current patch on til you get home.

DragonFly98 · 27/10/2023 11:04

Phone 111 and press the prescription option , they will send two to your nearest pharmacy.

It's only 3 days without a new patch and the old one will still have something in it.

Estrogen takes weeks and weeks to reduce. It's not a 111 emergency.

OP could spend her weekend chasing down a patch- is it really worth that?

The prescription option is separate from the regular 111 service it's set up simply for lost or forgotten prescriptions. You do not go through the usual assement process . I don't think many people know about it.

Thank you so much for your replies. I realised I’d not brought the new patches as l was pulling the old one off in the shower…so it’s in the bin and obviously can’t keep it on. Had l realised l wouldn’t have taken it off.
We are in a rural area with no pharmacies or Boots…so it’s not worth chasing it up, if it’s not going to effect the HRT.
@JinglingSpringbells should l still take the tablets for the next 3 days or just leave everything out? Thanks everyone x

Keep taking the Utrogestan.

When women stop HRT it can take 3 months before they see the effects and indeed this is the guidance on whether they are symptom-free or not when they stop (wait 3 months.)

(not dismissing some women are really sensitive to missed doses, but you've only got 2 days to go and patches can continue to work even beyond their change day.)

JinglingSpringbells · 27/10/2023 13:38

Sorry- see you binned it, but I wouldn't worry.

Artyfarty555 · 27/10/2023 21:24

Thankyou @JinglingSpringbells
