Nausea during perimenopause

Does anyone else suffer from nausea?

I am 50 and have had this for a year or two and although I do also have IBS (which has also been really bad during this time) this nausea is getting worse.

I have had lots of tests but nothing found. I can only think that it’s hormonally driven but it is just horrible and worse after I eat so am scared to eat these days.

I suffer with extreme nausea. It is definitely hormonal and it lasts for about three days each month but exactly when and why hasn't been established other than "fluctuating hormones" causing it. I am on HRT. It is very much like morning sickness for me - opposite to you eating actually helps. I get a one sided headache that just won't shift with pain killers, nausea and extreme tiredness. It is quite debilitating for those three or so days.

Wigglypasta I suffer with the one sided headache too and the nausea is definitely like morning sickness. It’s just awful, I used to only get it for a few days but it’s becoming an almost daily occurrence now.

I’ve been having headaches and vomiting. I’ve started HRT so hope that will stop it

My GP has suggested mirena coil instead of utrogestan as a suggestion to try and stop these bouts of nausea as it might stabilise the progesterone I think. I am a bit reluctant in case constant progesterone makes me constantly ill though.

Wigglypasta I have the same doubts. My gynaecologist has suggested I have a Mirena as I have some issues following a uterine ablation but I am concerned how difficult it would be to get it removed if it made me feel poorly.

Sounds like we are very much in the same boat. Sorry I don't have a solution. Hopefully someone can offer us some advice!!

I has this many evenings for about two years. I used to take a sick bowl to bed just in case. It was when my peri symptoms were all at their worst.
Then it stopped out of the blue.
