Should be ok shouldn’t it?

If you have just decided you don't want to use it, that's up to you and fine to stop. Keep the patches to one side though in case you change your mind again.

If you have stopped as you think it is not working, you need to give it longer, it can take up to 3 months to see full effect

If you have stopped because of side effects like tender breasts, these are normally mild and settle in a short time

DustyLee123 · 08/09/2023 15:04

Can I ask why you stopped ?
I wasn’t keen to go on it, but decided to commit to a 3 month trial. I kept a symptom diary and I can see that I am a bit happier, and a bit more willing to go out and do things, unlike before.

Well it’s probably fine. But it seems odd to go through the whole diagnosis and getting the prescription then deciding not to use it.

GoodVibesHere · 08/09/2023 16:19

It's fine to stop, I stopped after 3 months as it gave me intolerable side effects whilst giving me no improvement or reduction in my original symptoms/issues.

(I would give it longer than 3 patches though, to see improvement).

Thank you everyone for your replies.

there wasn’t really a big diagnosis I was offered it over the phone. My anxiety is through the roof but I would like to wait and see if it is menopause or life related.

I stopped after increasing dose, didn’t notice much difference with HRT, awful side effects, mainly being really bloated and hair loss. Just stopped and feel ok since stopping . Trying to eat better and exercise which helps

FoamyBanana · 09/09/2023 07:36

Is it the anxiety that is making you want to stop though? Are you feeling anxious about risks/side effects? If you gave it a proper go (3 or 4 months) you'd see if it reduced your anxiety and could then make a decision? If it works for you, then it really can be life changing. I know it's not the solution to everything but peri menopause can cause real issues with anxiety so if rebalancing your hormones can relieve that isn't it worth a try?

Menopants · 09/09/2023 09:30

No I am going through a shitty time. I have always suffered from depression and anxiety but generally work my way through it. I think I was so desperate I thought hrt might help but I don’t think messing with my hormones is very sensible right now esp as there is minimal support from gps.
