Feel emotionally numb

Anyone else finding that they feel just very meh thanks to menopause? I haven't had a period for 4 months now and seem to have 'lost that loving feeling' and can't seem to give a fuck about anything. All those fuzzy nurturing, loving emotions have disappeared. It feels so weird. Is this just the way it is now that I can't have any more babies to nurture? I'm not depressed, I can still have a laugh and look forward to stuff, but would ideally live like a hermit on a remote Scottish island for 9/10ths of the year.

@Bookist I feel the same today.
My battery has literally died! Running on about 10%!

I can't think straight.
My brain is fuzzy.
I can't compute information.
I can't follow a conversation properly.
Today, i couldn't fathom out a simple train timetable.

Dementia? Hope not 🙈

God yes, the brain fog is real.

But doesn't that mean all women end up feeling loveless? Seems very bleak.

No, it's not about feeling loveless but oestrogen is the caring/nuturing/giving hormone and once it starts to diminish through menopause, you can start to feel less like putting everyone else first.

Sorry you are all going through this.

Peri-menopause can happen up to 10 years before full menopause and meh, palpitations and narkiness are all part of it. There's loads of symptoms such as brain fog, tiredness and lack of focus. 😮 Davina's book is ace.

If you are suffering, you need to see your GP to get a blood test for oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone levels, then if they are low get some HRT. It takes months so start sooner for all sorts of bone and other health reasons. A Lot of docs misdiagnose as depression because they haven't had the training!!

Goodluck🍀
