HRT & weight gain OR sweating…help!

I’ve been on Everol Sequi for a couple of years, started to help with excess sweating which was taking over my life.
I literally drip with sweat after any activity even a yoga class or a bit of hoovering!

I also tried taking sage tablets which I think helped a bit.
However, since starting the HRT I’ve gained a stone in weight that just won’t shift and unless I cut right down low on calories it keeps shifting upwards!

As I’m now in the obese category I decided to come off the Patches and see what difference it made to my weight…..I’ve lost 6lb in about 2 weeks.

However the excess sweating is now back with a vengeance and I’m thinking of going back to GP to ask for alternatives.
All the alternatives I’ve read about, also have weight gain as a side effect!

Does anyone have any ideas? I can’t afford to keep putting on weight and want to get at least 2st off as I’m sure this will also help the sweating.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think that proves it’s water weight if it came off that fast.

Possibly a fair bit is water weight. I am prone to water retention and bloating. When I was pregnant I blew up like a balloon and put on 3st both times. Also the combined pill made me put on weight years ago.

The fact that the scales seem to be actually budging Is making me think hormones are responsible.

Nobody taken anything apart from HRT that worked for sweating?

I went back on HRT after a 4 month break due to constant bleeding and "gain" around my middle. When starting HRT again around Feb this year I did it gradually with a half dose of the patch (Evorel 50) before increasing in April/May. I was also combining this with a concerted effort to drop the belly. I workout 5 times a week as well as running. I also kept an eye on my calories and macros. I've been very consistent. In the last 3 months I noticed that despite the leanness in my legs, arms and butt, my belly was now getting bigger. I cut alcohol to very low levels to see if this would help but I continued ballooning. My boobs, already a 36F due to being genetically pre-disposed to larger breasts, were also getting larger.

For the last 3 days I've stopped my HRT. Aside from peeing like a racehorse, I've noticed that my belly is shrinking back quite significantly. Therefore this has to be primarily fluid retention. I had a similar experience on the pill many moons ago, e.g I started to balloon a few months into taking it, gaining significantly around my midriff. When I stopped taking it, the "weight" dropped off in around 6 weeks. I'm clearly sensitive to hormone therapy, likely progesterone. I can't use a coil either due to other issues so I'm a bit stuck. Whilst HRT gave me energy and sorted out my other symptoms such as sweats etc, I cannot tolerate getting bigger and bigger whether it's water retention or something else.

I was weighed at the doctor's this week when getting my HRT prescription and realised I've put on a stone in a year. I started on evorel sequi 50 and am now on evorel 75 plus progesterone tablets. I'm really torn. I need to lose weight as I look awful and ache but I've just bought an annual prepayment certificate for HRT which has made a difference. I'm giving good bold Rosemary Conley another go as I've had success in the past and will consider coming off HRT later in the year.

I’ve put on weight around the time of starting HRT but put it down to the poor sleep that I was getting with increases cortisol and changes in lepton which control how you feel full.

I’m not convinced that it is the HRT itself
