Tibolone /Livial - anyone used this hrt?

Hello everyone
I had two years on sandrena gel and Utrogestan, to help my bladder and a few other symptoms.
Repeated thickened uterus and heavy bleeding, and ongoing rage and constipation on the utro made me eventually come off in April.
Four months on and the estrogen has worked it's way out, return of the bladder agony (local estrogen doesn't help me) and hot flushes, bad sleep, but also very weepy. Just like I was before I started hrt, crying and feeling like I couldn't go on.
So I'm keen to try a different form of hrt, especially for my bladder. My doctor is a menopause specialist and wants me to try tibolone in light of my uterus problems. My gynae has suggested hysterectomy but I'd rather avoid surgery.

Has anyone had a good experience with tibolone or another alternative hrt that doesn't make you too angry or raging?

Anecdotally, friends on tibolone have experienced mood disorders. It's impossible to know whether they'd have had the same on combined HRT or nothing.

Having skim-read the risk factors, they look fairly similar to those of HRT. The most concerning ones seem to be thrombolytic; presumably your docs will discuss this with you.

As with any long-term medication, the big question is how badly the condition affects your life: you're describing frequent pain and emotional distress, so that weighs the balance somewhat. Would you rather live with this or an elevated risk of stroke?

Sorry I know so little - hopefully someone else will come along!

Thank you GarlicGrace , it's really good of you to share your friends experience. Seems like it's not a commonly used form of HRT

I think if I were you, I'd give it a six-month trial. If it helps, your decision-making will be clear. If not, it's back to the drawing board and maybe the surgeon.
Sorry you're having to deal with this.

Thank you, a trial sounds fair

Hope everyone is keeping well. I have been put on Tibolone because of severe lower back and knees pain as well as massive brain fog and constant tiredness. I will say that as far as brain fog goes it's done wonders! I am more alert, positive and focused, back pain is still present after being on this medication for 7 weeks, some days worse than others. GP is still carrying out blood tests as they have found some high iron and ANA levels.. one small side effect has been tender nipple but only one not both🤷🏻‍♀️ so far, happy with it.

simsimma thank you for sharing your experience. I'm still in two minds about whether or not to try a new hrt
