Intrarosa

I've been on this for a few months now, having been prescribed it privately. I tried other pessaries etc and I found this worked best for the VA symptoms such as urinary issues. However my GP says that they can't prescribe it on the NHS as tests show it works no better than a placebo.

It doesn't seem to be talked about much here, is it rarely used? Have other women used it successfully? To be honest, I think I will continue with the private prescriptions for it unless I see evidence that it is dangerous.

It's DHEA and is not available as far as I know on the NHS. For some time it was an 'experimental drug' . It's an option for women who can't use vaginal estrogen perhaps because of breast cancer. It's usually offered as a 'last resort'. Why did your dr offer it to you?

Have you tried all the other licensed options? Vagifem, Ovestin, Blissel, etc?

I've used each of those listed, and they just don't do it for me. The private doctor that I saw thought I should try it, and it works better for me than any of the other three did. My main problems are vaginal atrophy causing painful sex, and urinary incontinence. Both have got much better since using it.

Thank you for your post. I came here to see if anyone had reviewed intrarosa as I have just had it prescribed.

My biggest worry is that it won't dissolve as vagirux never seemed to. I have used cream which feels less worrisome than a pessary.

How are you finding them? I have to pay so I'm hoping they suit me ok. I read that other NHS areas so prescribe it but mine doesn't.

Hope you're still feeling well on them.

I found it worked for me but I could only get it prescribed privately. My GP prescribed me a estring which I am using instead at the moment (she said I can't use both), so am seeing how I get on with that instead.

I would be interested to see how you get on with it.
