Should I stick with femoston?

I have been on Femoston 1/10 for nearly two years [still having periods at 55 hence prescribed sequential].
Wonder if at my next review should ask for continuous hrt or change to gel/ patch?
Although been fine with tablets [though still have some brain fog] worry about risks such as the latest fun press on dementia...
I do find tablets convenient and they have helped with my anxiety and sleep hugely.

I understand dydrogesterone is a better progestin than some other versions.
Just wondering if would get more benefits / less risk if on transdermal hrt or if change to continuous hrt on tablet form. Dementia a huge fear of mine.

Transdermal and Utrogestan generally the safest combo.

Not sure why you think Femoston has a higher risk for dementia?

The progestogen in it is very similar to micronised progesterone in terms of safety.

The dementia risk of HRT is not proven in any way and there are actually more menopause experts who think HRT is preventative, than the other way.

In terms of breast cancer, sequential is considered safer.
In terms of clots, transdermal is safer but the risk of tablets only rises once you get to over 60.

Thanks for posting this OP. I'm on femoston too, had been on patches but supply issues forced me to change a few years ago. Never been on gel at all. I'm having issues with vaginal soreness, need to go back to Dr to discuss.

I'm due to start Evorol patches today after being on Femoston for nearly 2 years. My GP said it was safer and was better for me as I have a history of endometriosis. I've been off Femoston over a week and I've felt good, I'm scared to put this patch on today and I feel rubbish. The Dr said this combo would be better for my sweats and sleep.

I am nearly 57. Think will stick with Femoston for the moment but maybe discuss hrt generally at my next review. Only just had a cursory review so think not due another one for about 10 months.
