Oestrogel in hand luggage?

Hello, does anybody know if you can take oestrogel pump (80 grams) in hand luggage through security? I am going on a long haul flight and don’t want to risk putting it in my suitcase in case it goes missing.

Yes, put it in a clear bag with the box that has the chemist sticker on.

Yes it's classed as medicine. Put your oestrogel in its box with the printed label on on a clear plastic bag, which can be any size, along with any other medications you take - utrogestan etc - all in original packaging with labels on. I also include a copy of my prescriptions list in the same bag. It's not officially needed so long as your medicine boxes have the prescription labels on, but one Airport security checked it so now I just take it as standard.

You don't need to put this in your liquids allowance by the way. You can still take a separate liquids bag for the usual under-100ml makeup etc.

I didn’t even put it in a plastic bag I realise. Just the box. It was fine.

You don't need to put it in a clear bag. Just have it in it's box with the prescription label on it.

That was fine for me at Heathrow/Doha/Sydney/Hobart/Adelaide.

Security at Doha took it out of the box and checked it against their list of allowed medications but it was fine. Everyone else just smiled and let it go straight through without question.

Thank you. Great advice

Security at Heathrow took mine off 'to be tested'. No idea what this mysterious 'testing' involved, but he gave it back to me. I did say at the time that it's a medicine, it's in its box with the pharmacy label on it and here's a copy of my prescription, would you still have taken it from me if it failed this 'test'? (Feeling a bit panicked at the thought I wouldn't have it while I was away). He shrugged and said he had to 'test' it.

Just wanted to add balance to your replies - I'd read all the 'it'll be fine, it's medicine' stuff but still mine was 'tested' 😂

You can take medicine that is larger than 100ml and that goes separately with your prescription in the tray.

Mine was scanned separately at Bristol and Geneva airports recently.
