The last few weeks my vagina has been itchy and sore and getting worse, I have been using vagisil but has not helped .
Is there anything else I can try.
I am on hrt , oestrogel 3 pumps and utrogestan 200mg 12 nights .
Thank you x

See the Dr.
Lichen sclerosis is really common in menopause, it could be that (or something else obviously) so it’s best to get a diagnosis before using things for several weeks that may not work.

If it's caused by dryness I think oestrogen gel can help - I was prescribed a gentle antibacterial moisturiser - like you'd use for eczema to use in the shower and after and that's helped me.

You probably need vaginal estrogen - cream or a pessary. See your gp.
Vagisil is not the answer it doesn't work for this if it's hormonal.

Im peri menopausal & Vagifem (a vaginal pessary or pill that you 'inject' into your vagina has been a game changer for me.

I didn't even realise how bad the dryness was until the nurse at the smear test suggested it. Now I think I must have been suffering dryness for a while.

Basically I definitely don't have dryness now and would feel more confident about having sex if I was to meet a boyfriend.

Can be many things. Dryness due to lower estrogen. Estrogen creams can help. Lichen sclerosis which can be triggered at menopause. See a GP. Urine irritation from even the tiniest bit of leakage brought on by j menopause. Try liners. Liners that irritate the skin, try extra soft liners for sensitive skin and change frequently as the urine can irritate. Sometimes washing with warm water during the day and patting dry can help as any urine will be removed. It's a bit trial and error

I hat what I thought was thrush and a UTI at the same time in one go, had all the usual checks and came back clear. Turned out it was menopause related, the GP gave me estrogen cream and it stopped itching within a few days

As above. Ovestin cream has been a gamechanger for me.
