40 plus... Falling over!

Is it just me, or has anyone else started falling over a lot more since they turned 40?! I'm mid 40s and am forever falling over/off my bike etc. I'm fairly busy (teacher who works across a split site so no classroom) 2 primary kids and generally just into stuff. I'm also fairly fit (run, weights, walk everywhere - Garmin says my fitness age is 20 FFS) but I have just become so accident prone. Is this a thing! I really feel fine otherwise! Just wondered whether there is anything that actually says this is a thing!

@WhereTheSuburbsMeetUttoxeter did you get any answers. I realise this was last year, but I found it from googling about my falling. You described it really well. I'm not dizzy or anything, it's like my feet don't work properly.

@coastergirl I'm the same - came across the thread whilst googling about falling. Trying to pursue the issue with my GP surgery was impossible, so I have moved to a new surgery and had a good appointment with a doctor who at least sounded like she was taking it seriously and agreed to refer me to a neurologist.

I had my first bad fall in 2021, and since then have probably fallen 3 or 4 times a year. Mostly just scrapes and bruises.

I'm certain I'm not fainting or losing consciousness at all. Doctor Google felt closest when it described 'foot drop', as it feels like that best describes it for me. I've read that it can be a symptom of B12 deficiency (especially around menopause), so I try and take a good supplement every day.
