Moving the cycle

I ended up starting my HRT (two pumps of gel) at the diametrically opposite time in my cycle than in retrospect was correct. So my period starts around 30th of month, then I start Utrogestan on 1st!!

So I'm now wondering about leaving a longer gap between the end of taking Utrogestan this cycle, so starting it on 15th June, rather than 1st - and then when I start taking it again I'm hoping this will then bring my own natural period, which still occurs, into alignment with the end of each Utrogestan-caused bleed . Currently I seem to be getting bleeds fortnightly which is a pain, and means I can't really monitor effectiveness of using it vaginally (which my GP has recommended I do by ensuring I don't get a breakthrough bleed).

Sorry this is a bit convoluted but do you think that is safe? Or do I need to run it by the GP? Can you see any problems or issues with doing this?

@JinglingSpringbells - would be great to get your thoughts on it.

It's a bit of non-issue really so don't worry.

For the first 6 years I was on HRT (in my 50s) I did the progestogen cycle once ever 3 months. (This is allowed by NICE and I posted a link to it yesterday under a Utrogestan thread.)

It is really hard to align HRT to irregular cycles.

I'd just wait till the 15th and do 12 days, then again on 15th June and so on.

Choose the same day each month.

You might get your own period in between but it ought to all settle down in the end.

Okay thanks for getting back so quickly @JinglingSpringbells - that's reassuring
