Sore breasts - any advice?

Does/has anyone had this issue and have any advice? I am 47 and assuming this is menopause related - fuck me, my breasts are so painful! It's like that tender/heavy pain you have with PMS, but it's been a few weeks now and it's not PMS. (Definitely not pregnant btw!) I can't take HRT.

I am (luckily I guess) small framed with small breasts - 34A/B so imagine this would be even worse with bigger breasts. (Sympathies for anyone affected if this is true!) I don't normally wear bras unless I'm wearing an outfit that looks better with one, or I want to wear a particular matching lingerie set Grin so the few bras I have are lacy frilly underwired type things.

The solution is obviously some kind of support but sadly I'm really awkward. I don't want to have to wear an uncomfortable bra all the time, I don't like hooks and eyes or wire and I don't like having to drag elastic-y tight sports bra things over my head which always go all rolled up and annoy me. I also can't put my arms behind my back but I don't want an ugly front fastening thing. I would like something "pretty" not just functional. I like lace if it's not itchy. If I could wear it in the day and also just keep it on overnight that would be good. I would like it in coral/pink/nude as well as black.

Ideally I'd quite like a cantilever thing installed under each breast which I can just prop them on, but in the absence of this, does anyone have any ideas? I'm really demanding and annoying as you can tell already and I'll probably say no to every suggestion Grin if anyone would like to have a go however I'll be really grateful!

I'm going to post this in menopause and Style and Beauty topics to maximise my chances! (I'd like to say my budget is around £20 but I know I'll have to go over it as I'm such a fussy fucker)

I’m the same age as you but with a gg/h cup. And
i fine I can reduce to a dull ache with any bra. It’s when I don’t have a bra on that they really ache and hurt. I find the bras with the moulded cups are more comfortable and have found quite a good value pack at M&S. three bras under wired moulded cups with a bit of lace for £36. Basic colours but im
sure they do similar in single bras and brighter colours.
move given up on all lace and non moulded cups as they are just not comfortable

Oooh unicorn I can imagine it's more painful with heavier breasts, I'm obviously getting off lightly.

Does the underwire not hurt? Moulded cups is a good call, I wouldn't have thought of that. I don't really want to use the M and S changing rooms (this is a name change from FWR Wink) but could look for similar online.

I've just realised it really should be nude or pink, rather than black,to go under my summer clothes. I also can't wear a halter-neck thing (which would be first choice to take pressure off my shoulders) as I have a new tattoo on my upper back.

I have an ASOS and Amazon prime membership and would prefer to order online than get my arse off the sofa to go and try stuff on.

I find it’s about support so I need wires. If it was wireless eith smaller cups I imagine it would be ok but for me it doesn’t work.

Victoria secret and pink have some lovely moulded bras. Dd wears them. I can’t as they don’t do my cup size but they do look comfortable and also pretty.
I think halter neck would not work either. A good fitting smooth bra to minimise irritation.

I tend to buy my M&S ones on click and collect and try on at home and return any I don’t like.

dd likes ones like this https://www.victoriassecret.co.uk/style/ls336772/K24556#K24556
She’s not remotely menopausal but loves a comfy bra and from shopping with her and doing the washing I can see that this would work for that heavy uncomfortable achey feeling as the support is there.
keep an eye on the sale pages and you can get some bargains.

Thank you Unicorn - I'll keep an eye out. Good call re DDs - mine don't wear bras but have lacy bralette things and crop tops, so I may borrow them to see how they are and as payback for them stealing all my black tights and fluffy sleeping socks
