Anyone experienced loss of energy during peri-Menopause

I’m peri menopausal and in my mid-40’s

In the last year, I’ve just felt so zapped of energy. Not necessarily tired, but no desire to do any aerobic exercise.

I used to be a keen runner, but just can’t be arsed.

I’ve put on weight recently ( about a stone) and think it’s a culmination of eating junk and doing much less exercise.

can anyone recommend a remedy? Does HRT help?!

I've had this. Started HRT and feel a bit better but not back to pre Meno levels. Low vit D also which I am struggling to get back up.

Get your iron checked!!!!

@Beamur going to sound very shallow, but did HRT make you put on weight? Never had a problem keeping the weight off, but was always much more active!

@Reddress2023 will try this, but not feeling ‘sleepy tired’ it you know what I mean?

Vitamin D spray daily. See how you feel in 3 weeks.

Get your thyroid checked too!

Heck this is me- I'm 52 and thought I'd be done by now- hoped to just ride it out without HRT but I'm exhausted all the time. I WFH and have flexible working so take a long lunch and have a nap for an hour every day- struggle to function if I can't Blush. I'll try the things suggested on here. I eat well - try and get all my vitamins in but I'm indoors a lot so I'll try the vit D thing. Now the weather has picked up a bit I will spend more time outdoors - maybe a walk instead of a nap at lunchtime!

Interesting thread as dealing with same issue, I'm 48 but still getting my periods. All my life I've always been like a Swiss watch every 28 days but since last year my period dates are getting "weird", either too soon or too late. I feel my hormones a tad funkier and fatigue too. It might be the so called post "pandemic fatigue" but I just feel tired overall so a few months ago and decided to do something about it. It worked. What I did:

  • SUPER healthy diet (nutrients are your friends. fruits and vegetables, zero junk food)
  • Sleep (lots)
  • be kind to myself. I've gone through a pandemic and it was very stressful so plenty of self care now. I deserve the best.
  • "health & her perimenopause multi-nutrient support". 2 capsules a day after each meal. helps to balance your hormones. Life changer.
  • Exercise, lots of walking and one hour swimming and sauna at my health club before I go to bed.
  • Sun. Spring is here, so lie in the park a couple of hours and get your dose of vitamin d.

My energy is coming back with a vengeance. I'm really starting to believe that hormones are incredibly entrenched to our physical and mental wellbeing. Stress really affects hormones and oestrogen production.

Thanks all- Vitamin D on the shopping list! Thyroid check too.

@Sandra1984 think I’ll nick your regime. I definitely think I need to completely MOT my life. Too many bad habits. And there’s never a silver bullet is there?

I also had post covid fatigue for a while, and lots of stressful things going on in my life, which probably hasn’t helped.

Think it’s a perfect storm of having a ton of life stresses and plummeting estrogen levels.

feel like the wheels are coming off… so time to re group!
