Joint pain

Hi, would anyone recommend supplements for joint pain? Other than that I’m feeling well so don’t want to go the HRT route. I have a bad history with gynae problems and hormonal treatment and am finally drug free and feeling good after my hysterectomy so loathe to start again! Thanks

I wonder if it matters which joints, what triggers the pain, OP? Which joints and how is the pain stopping you from doing things?

Weight loss always helps with joint pain, if you are overweight.

neck, shoulder, lower back mostly. Not overweight although around 5 lb more than I’d like. I jog which might contribute to the back pain but not the rest.

Could you get a blood test?
Most people are short on vitamin D and it can show up as joint pain. I'm in a similar position (but taking HRT) and my join pain is lessening. I've just been prescribed some high dose stuff as the over the counter ones (vit D) were not bringing my levels up enough.

I dunno about supplements but you could talk to a physio about neck & shoulder. I have chronic shoulder issues which are probably simple wear n tear. I've never read anything to convince me that any OTC supplements would help with my wear-n-tear shoulder aches.

My shoulders seem much better for swimming (front crawl). Keeps them loose & the supporting muscles strong.
