FFS - gums??

Is there any body part that's exempt from bloody menopause? Went to dentist today and he said he could see a marked difference in my gums (bigger gaps than is ideal between back teeth and gums) since my last appointment, which was only about 6 months ago. Could be on my way to gum disease and he said it's likely due to age/menopause. I've been expecting aches, weight gain, mood swings, but gappy gums? The gift that keeps on giving .

Unfortunately, yes. I've gone from never having to have anything done (even stretching to "I'll see you in a year") to gum disease during peri.

Teeth are perfect.

The bristle brush things are v good (can hurt and bleed at first) and if you keep up with those and flossing x2 day it makes a big improvement.

Hrt may have helped me too.

Thanks @WarriorN - do you mean the inter dental brushes? I'm the same, teeth are good, never have to have any work done - it was a bit of a shock. I think I might ask about HRT, I've gotten away quite lightly so far but now might be the time.

Hrt helps gums op. Its the inflammation

Yes the mini bottle brushes! Dentist can advise

It has similarly been a shock to me. But apparently important to get on top of as it can instigated other illnesses and diseases (dentist gave me a bit of a fright!)

I do think hrt may have helped

I was also having a lot of issues with my eyes (dry, itchy, often getting slight infections which I could treat at home) and that also has improved.

Yes, I've also started getting itchy red eyes. The only thing that's put me off HRT so far is that my years and years of menstrual migraines have finally abated and my skin is really clear. I need to weigh everything up and have a chat with the doctor.

My Gp said patches are usually favoured over gel for migraines if it helps.

Sea Buck Thorne can help eye moisture too (just a bit pricey) and a low histamine diet
