Another menopause and Mirena post - zitty and cramps for days 🤬. Is it worth it??

Acne calmed down post menopause. But I agreed to a Mirena the second time I had hysteroscopy, polypectomy and benign biopsy, this was last August. Since then I have had one bout of bleeding, and several days at a time of cramping and acne. This is after five or more period-free years. Three days of cramping now - really wish I hadn't agreed to being wooshed into it just before going under anaesthetic. Spoken to GP and clinical pharmacist - basically 'yeah, that can happen on Mirena.'

So fed up. I felt normal on Evorel Conti patches.Wish I hadn't agreed to switch to coil and estrogen-only patches ...

Can you get the coil removed and go back to conti patches at all?

Gynae advised safer to have this arrangement - but I think I might have declined if I'd been fully aware of coil effects. Heard ghastly things about removal, too ...

I am three weeks into my Mirena and have re entered my teenage acne years😟but only have this short time to go on am afraid.
Lots of spotting and this third week has been like a period. I am going to give it a while to see how it settles.

It can take a while for the mirena to settle. I had one fitted last May and experienced a few weeks of spotting and cramps etc. Now it's fine.

Removal shouldn't be an issue if done by a skilled practitioner.
