I’m 65 now and recently I’ve started with aching joint’s different parts . I take vits, magnesium, zinc, Turmeric, vit c
I already suffer GAD anxiety since by 20’s I had a massive melt down in by 50’s due to perimenopause which gp should of suggested HRT then but instead I ended up under psych & mht who changed my antidepressant (a whole nightmare episode)

If you did , have you noticed great change in ANYTHING?
after my nightmare with antidepressant change medication as frightened me so so much
but this aching all over my body different parts
is lowering my mood that I’m finding it hard to want to do anything

I started before I was 60 but my HRT was increased a year or so ago and testosterone was added. Everyone reacts differently from what I can see, but there is increasing acceptance of HRT well beyond the initial years of menopause.

TBH you can just try it.

Everyone is different so one woman's experience won't be yours.
There are plenty of women using HRT over 60 (me) but who started in their 40s or 50s.

You certainly can start at 65, although you have to take a low dose of transdermal estrogen (patch/gel/spray) to avoid the risk of blood clots.

If you GP is unsure of starting you at 65, ask for a referral to a menopause consultant.

I started at 61 and it has definitely helped me with aching joints and hands. Night heats also starting to subside. On 1mg Sandrena gel and vaginal progesterone. Been on HRT nearly a year and still a work in progress, as previously on Everol combined conti patch, but I wasn't absorbing. I've noticed that I am far more relisant and not so easily overwhelmed now; bit more like my old self. I very much wish I had started it earlier and not put up with my symptoms. Its definitely worth a go!

Oh and it also helped with digestion. Previously my supplements etc were starting to feel uncomfortable when I took them. Also use vagifem twice a week and that has made a big difference too.

Obviously hasn't helped with my spelling!

Started at 59. GP had no problem with prescribing to lift mood and help sleep (it did)
