Feeling flat on progesterone

I am in my 3rd month of HRT (50mg estradot patches and 200mg utrogeston days 1-12 of every calendar month). So currently on day 6 of progesterone.

The last 3 mornings I have gone back to bed for 3 hours and when I wake up I am just exhausted. I feel flat and just completely 'meh'. I cannot wait to go back to bed!

This must be the progesterone right? I felt fine during the lead up to Xmas and into the new year but I remember feeling like this last month on progesterone too.

Before HRT, I only had mild symptoms of hot flushes and interrupted sleep which weren't debilitating in any way. I also have quite bad muscle pain for years and an increase in joint pain over the last 6 months. I have read somewhere that I need much more progesterone to combat these physical symptoms and also testosterone may help.

Is the answer to increase my patch? Or decrease the progesterone? Does anyone have any clue??

I am just turned 50 and have the copper coil for contraception.

I'm on back to back progesterone mini pill to stop periods and I feel the same, but I think I remember other people (on a thread on here) saying that they wouldn't / couldn't take it because it made them feel down. So it's not an uncommon reaction I believe. This isn't a helpful response but bumping because I'll be interested in the answers you receive.

The gynae said to me that some women just don’t take it, but there is a risk.

I chose to go on the Mirena, I’m 54 and was on hrt pills before another awful on the progesterone days. It’s a smaller more regular dose. It’s worked for me , though the insertion was fairly traumatic…I fainted. Glad I was at hospital as ended up on ward for a couple of hours. That appears to be fairly unusual though.

Not keen on the mirena tbh as had it before and it made me feel a bit 'ragey' ! Plus it perforated my uterus on insertion. I've had the copper coil for a while now and very happy with it.

Also I think I need to take it as I still have a uterus and periods had only just gone a bit awol a few months before i started HRT.
It's a dilemma!
