Did you increase the strength of your HRT?

Hi all, I started hrt 18 months ago (evorel sequi 50's) and got along fine with it - all symptoms virtually gone.
Over the past 3 months my symptoms are slowly returning, so as i'm due a prescription review i thought i'd ask about increasing my dosage from the 50's to the 75's...
Not so simple apparently, after shutting down talk of putting me on Ad's , Dr wants to continue with current prescription and give me an extra patch so i'd be using 2 patches at a time.
It would also be another prescription charge, I already pay x2 for the ones i use currently, so now i'd be paying x3.
Please tell me i'm not going mad and i could just increase to 75's.
Dr seems to be over complicating this ( by his own admission not a menopause expert).
Thanks for any info

Of course he could. I'm on Evorel 75 patches (oestrogen), and you be too.

How odd.

You could always purchase a pre-payment certificate so you don't have an additional charge? Depends what other meds you get. If you already have 50s in stock, wouldn't it be worth adding a 25 patch and seeing if that makes the difference?

What's a pre payment certificate?

I had this exact same response from my GP, also been on Everol Sequi 50 for 18 months. So instead I tried using these and honestly I feel great again, troublesome symptoms gone!

mine were doubled from 25 to 50 without a second's hesitation on either side.

That said, I think there have been supply issues with some patches. Maybe it's that?

Apologies for jumping on your thread op but wondering if these can be taken along side hrt?
Am currently using evorel 50, utrogestan and vagifem

Thank you for the suggestion, as i'm not taking any other meds this wouldn't save me any money.
Let's hope after April when the reduced charge for Hrt comes in we might all be a bit better off

I've had a variety of combinations to get 75micg in 1, 2 or 3 patches, depending on what the pharmacist had in stock. I've never paid more than one charge. It's all the same medication. You don't pay two charges if prescribed 10mg of a medication and it's is dispensed in 5mg tablets.

TBH I prefer to have 3 little patches, rather than 1 large patch, as the little patches stick better.

Thank you everyone . The Dr is going to update my repeat prescription so i'll check it out via the nhs app in a few days. They couldn't do it today as i have 3 weeks left Hmm. Depending on what they have done i'll ring back and ask for their menk specialist to look into it for me
