Estraderm adhesive itching, aaargh!

I thought I'd finally found the holy Grail with estraderm patches but after a few happy months I have slowly started to react to the adhesive to the point where I am now covered in bright red square patches of welts and constantly surreptitiously scratching... I gather this isn't uncommon but wanted to check, if others have experienced this does it go away if I stick it out? Will other patches like estradot give me the same problem? (And can anyone even get hold of estradot at the moment?!). I actually prefer patches to the gel but not sure I can cope with estraderm much longer!

I found estradot non-itchy but yes, hen's teeth at the moment. I react to plaster and tape on other parts of my skin too. When I metioned it to the GP she suggested tablets but they have other side effects, or gel, which is even more hard to get!

Why does it have to be so difficult...

I couldn’t use either because of the adhesives. (I’m obviously a sensitive little snowflake…) I’m using Sandrena gel. It’s a more concentrated dose than estroderm gel and comes in individual sachets (about a teaspoonful, I guess) which are used daily and require a lot less realestate and feel far less like you’re rubbing cold snot all over your arms and legs. (More like you’re wiping a bit of hair gel onto your thigh or your bum.) Btw, I have found it to be more cost-effective as well.

I have contact dermatitis; elastoplast being one thing l cannot have on my skin. No, it won't get better with perseverance and very likely it will get worse. My Gp knew the likely reaction, told me patches weren't for me and gave me hrt in tablet form instead.

Thanks, it's not looking good is it? I guess I'll have to ask to change to another patch if I can get it, or go back to gel Sad. Dammit I thought I had this thing sorted!
