Rather embarrassing question

Ok, so along with hot flushes and a complete loss of libido, I now have really painful dryness.

However, I still have ovulation type mucus around my CD14. It's my vulva/rest of vagina which is a-thousand-papercuts dry and sore.

Is this normal? I assumed menopausal dryness would be internal as well as external. Externally things are rather dire right now. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions?

Op, you need to use vagifem pessary for the inside and ovestin cream on the outside. Ovestin can sting sometimes when using first but usually settles. Both of these can take a while to help the situation so request from your Gp as soon as.

Your GP is first port of call.
A GP will likely prescribe an Oestrogen cream or pressaries you can use for the rest of your life to keep you comfortable.
Life saver so don’t hesitate.

Vagisil is very good which you can just buy online until you get a prescription.

Yes it can be normal and symptomw can affect any or all of the vagina, vulva, bladder/urethral tract and even the anal area. Suggest you tick offal that apply and discuss this with your GP. menopausesupport.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/GSM-OF-MENOPAUSE-SYMPTOM-CHECKER2.pdf

First line treatment to help the vulva would probably be Ovestin cream. Some women like to mix it with a little moisturiser eg Yes OB. You could also use an emollient ointment like Epaderm or Hydromol at other times (available OTC). If in pain try a warm sitz bath.

Yes, this.

Also, if you want to try it, HRT will sort it for you, inside and out. It'll also sort the flushes and loss of libido.
