For a couple of months I’ve started to get a burning sensation on my face when I drink alcohol, and my face goes red. Anyone else ?

@KangarooKenny I find I don't get the same effect with organic wine. Maybe worth a try?

Sounds like histimine intolerence www.newsonhealth.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Histamine-Intolerance-v21-03.pdf Exactly what I have had for some years - too much bread or alcohol =night sweats.

I have largely dropped them from my diet - which means I can get away with the occassional evening drinking or Sunday morning toast. But I think this is largely as I have adopted a lowe histimine diet. Said diet came about by fluke rather than knowing about the above article....but all made sense when I read it.

Have you had nutritional yeast or B supplements on the day of the drinking or in the few days prior? I found I flushed when I'd been taking high vit B.

I had this when I started menopause - patchy red marks would appear randomly on my face and neck if I had the merest sip of wine. (I only drink wine so no idea if it was wine or alcohol that caused it)

10 years on it doesn't happen any more.

You can take over the counter anti histamine if you want to drink without flushing.

Very interesting. Thank you for this :)

Same here. I've had to give up wine. Sad.
