I have been struggling with the menopause and my MH generally, hard to know what's menopause and what external life stuff. Anyway, I am on HRT, Lenzetto spray and progesterone, menopause doctor has also now prescribed DHEA, does anyone have any experience of this, did it help, not help and it what way.?

I’m on it. I think it’s supposed to be the raw ingredient for hormone making, testosterone specifically. I can’t say I notice much difference when I don’t take it but I’m just taking it because it’s been prescribed. I’m having private treatment currently but did wonder about trying to switch to NHS and regulated treatment. Out of interest had your DHEA been prescribed by an NHS GP please?

Have just changed from lenzetto & Utrogestan to a patch to see if it helps. Had horrendous anxiety / mood swings/ aches returning.

Hi, Thanks for replying. Its been prescribed privately, I don't think you can get it on the NHS, I only went private as getting appointment with my doctor was a nightmare, and I just couldn't cope. I do have some other external issue going on, so its hard to know whats menopause and whats just general anxiety from a real situation.. I took it today, so I'll see how I go. As long as I don't feel worse.....

Hi op, this is an interesting question. I have taken it in the past for fertility related issues and I believe it did help (I took the micronised DHEA). I have had some bad experiences with taking HRT so I was wondering whether to start taking DHEA again. I am also struggling with working out what it related to the menopause/mental health or external issues, it all feels jumbled. Watching youre thread with interest.

It's so hard to know isn't it, I left a job a few years ago, and haven't really settled anywhere since, so massively regret leaving my old job now, sometimes wonder if I hadn't left and was going through the menopause would I feel quite so awful, work at least have me my sense of self, stability etc, now I'm full of regret, worry and menopause, hard to unpick it all sometimes....

Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time op. You did what you thought was right at the time, try not to be hard on yourself. I'm putting off any major decisions for the time being as I'm in the depth of the peri-menopause and don't trust my judgement on some things as I'm not sure whether it is hormone fuelled (or not). I suppose this is a decision in a way (to do nothing about something).

Ditto here. I get it privately too. I’m not sure if it helps me or not tbh.

I wondered about not making any major decisions, but I'm back in the industry I was before, accepted a job as an assistant manager, 4 weeks in, I was approached to be a manager for another company, back nearer where I worked before, so I have dilemma, messing the current people around, or taking a job, I should be able to do standing in my head, but somehow thinking I won't be able to do it, honestly menopause, Covid and regret, has really left me all over the place.... I have thought maybe so nothing at the mo, but people a manager and running things my way is very appealing if it didn't come with al the self doubt.
