HRT break when swapping forms?

If you swapped types of hrt, did you take a week off everything ?

I’ve just swapped to evorel sequi today, having been using lenzetto and Utrogestan. But then noticed the info says take nothing for a week. Is this very important?

Oh that's interesting. I have just switched but didn't leave a break, Doctor didn't say anything and the info with my patches didn't either. Does it say why, I can't imagine why you would need to.

It says, if you are starting at the end of your progesterone weeks, then leave it s week to give yourself a bleed

But surely you're going to have the bleed from stopping the progesterone, not just using the oestrogen (from first week of box)

My Dr. didn't mention this either, so I just popped it on, then read the pack insert a bit later. I don't really want to take it off.
Not sure what to do

If it's a change from a sequential (bleed type) to a continuous type, it's best to wait to have a bleed. If you are simply swapping to the same regime then no, you don't need to.

Where does it say have a break on the instructions?

Maybe I am reading this incorrectly?

“put ES on at the end of a treatment cycle, or one week after you have finished another HRT product if you are changing from an HRT medicine that gives you a withdrawal bleed”

Maybe it's either or?

I think the instructions are confusing to say the least!

If you are changing from a withdrawal bleed type to the same, then there is no break in the estrogen part.

I also think a lot of the info on the patient leaflet is out of date as it mentions HRT can increase the risk of heart disease in women over 60 (which is inaccurate and only applies to tablet form which may cause blood clots.)

Yes agreed, very confusing.
Am leaving my patch on!
