Crushing fatigue perimenopause?

I'm 45 and the last couple of months I have been suffering with awful fatigue. I can get up ok, do the school run then just want to crash. I've had bloods (not hormones though) and all ok. Also had endoscopy and colonoscopy as I had nausea, all fine. Periods are still happening but maybe slightly shorter. It's awful. Going to speak to doctor this week although I find GPs pretty useless so may go private. It's the kind of fatigue that a cuppa does nothing for and you feel like your eyelids are going to close. It does sound perimenopausal to me. Sugar probably makes it worse so have to sort that out. But I feel 100 years old being this dopey!

Thanks all for your comments, helpful and good not to feel alone! I think poor sleep doesn't help. Done the school run and now feel exhausted again. It's not a way to live.

Hit peri and this sort of fatigue at 38. Now 44. On a low dose combined pill as an alternative to HRT which works for me. I still sleep a lot but can fulfil all my commitments and have some sort of social life.

Meant to say that I had very restless legs and was tossing and turning all night prior to taking the combined pill. I was wired and got almost no sleep. This changed very quickly once on the pill. Alas, the middle-aged spread has never gone away but I expect my eating habits have a lot to answer for ...

This. The bone crushing, soul destroying tiredness.
I'm 50 and been diagnosed with b12 deficiency but I'm so, so tired. Don't get much more than 4 hrs sleep a night either but it's not sleepy tired, it's crawling through treacle tired.
Being tired makes me crave carbs and sugar- carbs and sugar make me more tired. Its a viscious circle.
I am active, bike 100 plus miles a week at the minute but everything hurts, I feel so very old.
