Feeling so agitated/nervous/wired on day of new patch

Hello all, I'm 3 weeks into Estradot 50mcg and on the day I change my patch, I feel incredibly wired with jittery/nervous energy, no appetite and a kind of feeling I can only describe as tension in my face/jaw. It's like being on some kind of weird 'upper', lasts all day and is really exhausting. Do you reckon I need to go down to 25mcg and work my way up? Has anyone else experienced this? I'd be so grateful for any advice as these unpleasant 'highs' are really exhausting.

I was on a different patch (Evorel conti) and I think just 25mg, but I had to come off it because I had constant fast pounding heart. Cut it in half and the symptoms were milder but still unpleasant. Totally exhausting. I switched to Estrogel and Utrogestan tablets and have no trouble with them (as long as I take one Utrogestan for 25 days, not two for 12 days). Weird.

That’s very interesting and thanks for your reply. What is your gel regime now? And do you take utrogestan for 25 days and then have a break? I’m on the 12 day regime.

Two pumps of gel each evening. And one Utrogestan each evening- yes, 25 days on and 3 days off.

I found if I took two Utrogestan tablets together, too soon after eating, I had quite an extreme (even scary) reaction. It was like being sedated. Couldn't focus, couldn't find words, couldn't walk steadily. Only lasted half an hour or so but it was the strangest thing. The patient info leaflet just says it can make you drowsy- but I did find discussion forums online with women saying they had experienced the same as me.

Thanks for that. I’m going to drop down to half a patch and get back in touch with my GP. The endless rollercoaster and self doubt are very tiring!
