Runny nose and sneezing

Just wondered if this could be linked with Meno? I've had frequent runny nose over the last year or so, no colds and I feel fine really, just can have a runny nose all day, sometimes with sneezing. Or is it not related? Periods are ranging from 15-65 days so I'd say I'm in late perimenopause.

It can be, I think it was a symptom in me. Try an anti histamine.

Thanks WarriorN I will try that

Some women develop allergies in meno, there can also be increased histamine issues - I particularly had issues with digestion and it appears to have been some foods with high histamine. Bizarrely dark chicken meat and mince, couldn't eat left overs. Pizza sometimes too. Hrt has helped a lot but it's sometimes flares and possibly has after covid.

I've been on hrt since Nov, recently went to 100 and thinking about it I've not had the random runny nose for a while. I didn't really notice in the past it till my mum kept asking if I had a cold on the phone. And it would always settle after a few hours or a day so I think I normalised it/ ignored it.

I've been told to take an antihistamine nightly for v mild lingering covid after affects, though do forget. Not sure if it helps the specific issues im having but may help the histamine thing! There's some evidence some aspects of long covid can be improved with anti histamines too, which can also histamine intolerance/ mast cell issues.

That's so helpful, thank you. Now you've said that, I'm wondering if actually mine has got worse since I had covid. Will definitely try an antihistamine.

Louise Newson says you can take two. I did have hives too after first bout of covid but word of warning; loradatine can really dry eyes out! So I'm taking 1 cetrazine (sp?) at night.
