Dosage over time

I have been happily on evorel 50 patches and daily progesterone and sleeping great. No anxiety! The last couple of weeks my sleep has been poor and anxiety flooded back. Should I expect dosage to increase over time? Was so happy that first complained seemed so effective! Will obvs speak to dr but worth some anecdotal chat..

I've had similar, my patch strength had to be increased after about 8 months as I was getting anxiety symptoms again.

No idea if that was a one-off or a regular occurrence, sorry I haven't been much help, just empathy.

I've been on Evorel sequi (50) for 18 months. Switched to Evorel conti (50) as my periods stopped so went from sequential to continuous. Had the conversation with the GP that actually I'd like to try the higher dose as the 50 only really regulates my hot flushes. Problem is, she then wants to know what other symptoms I want managed. Every single other symptom I mention she suggests SSRI's. This is the 3rd time I've been offered SSRI's for things like joint pain (I'm not GP bashing her, this is just a fact)
My sleep was starting to improve, but has recently gone to pot. I've decided I'm going to send an econsult in a few weeks saying I'd like to up my dose to 75 due to this and no I wouldn't like to try anti anxiety medication.

As an aside, I also spoke to the in house pharmacist about this and she said it didn't come in a higher dose. I explained that it comes in 25 and 50. I think there are still some gaps in knowledge, despite the raised profile in the last year or so. My GP said it's all Davina's fault that people are clamouring for it and it isn't the answer to everything (I agree, but neither are SSRI's)

Just a further anecdote, my best friend was started on Evorel 25 and told the GP that it appears to be helping somewhat. GP said okey dokey will keep you on that dose. I thought starting dose was 50 on NICE guidelines.

I think if you go armed with evidence and with a clear idea of what you want you can't go far wrong. Always worth at least trying a higher dose.

Yes in my case after starting 37.5 and feeling great, over time (a few months ) other symptoms came back and I went to 50. but especially about 3 months after a bad covid infection. I think my body gave up bothering to make oestrogen and bloods showed far too low oestrogen. Symptoms only improved slightly on 75 and again bloods still weren't as good as they could be so I'm now on 100 as of this week.

You could ask to test then raise or just raise and monitor. I got a second test as I actually wasn't sure if some symptoms were that I had too much oestrogen at 75, (water retention) though Gp did say breast pain is a key symptom there and I didn't have that.
